I am interested in carrying local entrepreneurs’ and creators’ clothing,
accessories, jewelry, artwork, handicrafts, furniture, what have you.
Anything can be submitted for request, as most of you know I’m quite open
minded and pretty much anything could seem appropriate to me at any given
time, but due to the nature of my business license I have to be selective
to adhere to the by-laws.

  The going rate for consignment in the city of Winnipeg is currently at
the consignor (the store selling the item) taking 60% with the consignee
( the creator) taking only 40% of the sale of their own wares. I’ve opted
to decrease my take by 20% and reverse the pay outs, to provoke first
and/or better selection of products at my store and maintain an air of
thriftiness and goodwill towards other small business owners like myself.

  I will be accepting consignment requests by email only. Email requests
should include at least one digital picture of the product, with a
written introduction of the product and yourself including a phone
number. Nothing crazy, only as much as you think is necessary. I will get
back to you if I’m interested and all other requests will be archived for
future contemplation.

  If your items are not selected immediately, don’t be discouraged, as I am
new at this and pretty much taking everything one step at a time, so be
persistent but keep in mind that I have a limited amount of space and am
attempting to maintain a certain inexplicable but unique image for myself
and the Hungover Empire company. Once things are moving along, I will be
publishing flyers that consignors will be permitted to advertise on as
well, but more on that later.
